3/18/16週五晚講座由Roberto Ysais講 "A Personal Journey"

本次講員是美國墨西哥著名攝影家,他也是我們協會的老朋友。講座全程英語。
Roberto Ysáis is a native Californian of Mexican descent. He received his Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles. While attending LMU he discovered photography which changed the course of his life. Ysais chose to pursue photography at Art Center College of Design and later apprenticed himself to various successful commercial photographers to enhance not only his photographic skills, but to better understand the commercial application of photography.
In his opinion, these formative years prepared him for any photographic challenge. He quickly adapted his pictorial acumen to various genre including: commercial advertising, magazine editorials and documentary, fashion photography, from swim-wear to lingerie, industrial and corporate reportage and educational profiles, not-for- profit humanitarian missions, including medical surgical aid in foreign countries, cultural, community, tribal, human interest portraiture and museum and fine art photography.
Throughout his 35-year career as a versatile photographer, he continues to be profoundly influenced by the ancient roots of his culture. This has led to his interest in unmasking and revealing the fundamental humanity of the peoples he has met and worked with around the world.
Ysais has been exhibited at the Smithsonian Institution in New York and Washington, D.C., in México, in Denmark, in China and has been published by the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian and National Geographic, as well as in China. In 2010, he received an honorary degree from the Normal University in Shanghai, China and in 2011 he received the International Lang Chin-san Award for Photography in Shanghai. He continues to work in Los Angeles pursuing the photography of his heart.
